PRIVACY
Your movie journal is yours.
Last updated October 13, 2026. This is a plain-language summary of what Stubworth keeps, why, and who else touches it. Questions: support@stubworth.com.
The short version
- Your journal is private to your account. No one else can see it, and Stubworth has no social or sharing features.
- No ads, no tracking, no analytics. Stubworth doesn't sell or share your data.
- If you connect Gmail, Stubworth never sees your password and can only read mail. It looks only for movie-theater receipts.
- You can delete your account and everything in it from Settings at any time.
What Stubworth keeps
- Your account: your email address (and your name, if you sign in with Google).
- Your journal: the visits you save — movie, date, theater, tickets, snacks, amounts and notes.
- Your settings: membership prices, the memberships you have, and your saved theaters.
- Receipt photos you choose to scan, stored privately in your account.
- If you connect Gmail: a Google access token (kept encrypted), and the text of theater receipt emails Stubworth finds, so you can review them. Nothing from your email is added to your journal until you save it.
- On your device: a copy of your journal so it works offline. Signing out removes it.
Gmail, in detail
When you connect Gmail you approve read-only access on Google's own page. Stubworth searches only for emails from movie theaters and ticket sites (for example AMC, Regal, Cinemark, Fandango) from the past year, plus a nightly check for new ones. It can't send, delete or change your email, and it doesn't read anything else. Disconnecting Gmail in Settings, or deleting your account, cancels Google's access right away. You can also remove access anytime at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Stubworth's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Gmail data is used only to find and fill in your movie receipts. It is never used for ads, never sold, and never used to train AI models.
Services Stubworth uses
- Supabase stores your account, journal and receipt photos.
- Cloudflare hosts the website.
- Anthropic (Claude) reads a receipt photo or receipt email when you ask Stubworth to fill in a visit from it. Anthropic doesn't use this to train its models.
- TMDB receives movie titles (not who watched them) to find posters.
- Google handles "Continue with Google" sign-in and, if you choose, Gmail access.
Deleting your data
Settings → Delete my account permanently removes your account, journal, settings, receipt photos and email review list, and cancels Gmail access. A weekly safety backup of journals and settings is kept privately for up to 90 days, so deleted data fully disappears from backups within 90 days. To delete a single visit, open it and choose Delete.
Children
Stubworth isn't meant for children under 13 and doesn't knowingly collect their information.
